LCSA-supported programs and events are designed to enhance STEM education and workforce development. Offered throughout the year, during school hours, after school, and over the summer, these programs cover a wide range of STEM fields and cater to learners of all ages.

Remake Learning Days

Remake Learning Days in Lancaster County is a series of events designed to showcase and celebrate innovative and hands-on learning experiences for students of all ages. These events typically involve local educators, organizations, and businesses, offering interactive activities and workshops that highlight STEM, arts, and other creative learning opportunities. The goal is to engage students, families, and the community in exploring new educational approaches and discovering the many resources available to support lifelong learning.

Workforce 2030 Summit

The Workforce 2030 Summit convenes leaders from education, non-profits, and businesses to collaborate on creating a work-ready community in Lancaster County by 2030. Attendees network, explore effective workforce development strategies, and engage in actionable planning sessions designed to drive meaningful change in the community.

Inspire Lancaster

The Lancaster County STEM Alliance and the Lancaster Chamber have teamed up to create and implement a work-based learning platform for employers, schools, students, and families in Lancaster County.   This innovative project addresses one of the greatest challenges related to business and education partnerships: efficiently and effectively matching employers with schools and students who are interested in specific work-based learning experiences such as apprenticeships, internships, job shadowing, company tours, and mentoring opportunities.

Adopt a Middle School

The Adopt-a-Middle School program fosters collaboration between businesses and educators to create project-based learning experiences that align with the district’s curriculum, while also raising students’ awareness of local job opportunities

Momentum Coding Academy

Elizabethtown College’s nationally recognized School of Engineering and Computer Science, in collaboration with the Lancaster County STEM Alliance and Cargas, hosts the Momentum Coding Academy, a six-week summer program for igniting high school students’ interest in STEM, particularly computer science.  College credits provided.

Experience LIVE at Rock Lititz

Experience LIVE (formerly LIVE EVENT CAREER EXPLORATION DAY) is a unique one-day showcase that occurs twice a year, that promotes opportunities within large scale live productions, such as: concert tours, theatrical shows, amusement park interactions, experiential marketing, sporting events, e-games, and so much more. Perfect for curious students who want to explore the ways art and technology come together to create innovative and creative events for audiences of all types.

Aviation Camp

In the summer (June) Eastern Mennonite University hosts an annual experience for up to 50 Lancaster County high school students entering grades 9-12. The purpose is to expose students to a variety of aviation careers, develop their skill sets and meet aviation professionals within the industry in Lancaster County.

Engineering is Elementary

This project supports local educators in implementing EiE’s Wee Engineer, an award-winning engineering curriculum for Pre-Kindergarten classrooms across Lancaster County. It also provides training for educators in Kindergarten through grades 1-5 on EiE’s Engineering is Elementary curriculum. The program delivers STEM learning experiences to approximately 840 students.

Summer STEM Educator Externship

This program is designed to provide educators with real-world experience in STEM-related industries. It allows teachers to spend time working directly with local businesses and organizations, gaining insights into current industry practices and emerging technologies. This hands-on experience helps educators better integrate relevant, up-to-date content into their curriculum, enhancing their ability to prepare students for careers in STEM fields. The externship aims to strengthen the connection between education and industry, ensuring that students receive practical and applicable learning experiences.

Jun 16 – Jun 18: Educator Industry Tours are intended to enhance classroom instruction, student learning, and career readiness for the workplace by connecting educators with local business and industry leaders and technical and career training centers. Educators will have an opportunity to participate in full-day, in-person tours.
